Itinerary
Day 1. Spain – Toulouse
Welcome to the land of fine food
France has always been known as the land of chefs and culinary creativity. And the Southern France is proof of this. We will set out in the morning for Toulouse, arriving at midday. After dropping off our luggage, we will go for a walk around this fascinating city famous for its grand museums and Jacobin convents, slowly taking in Occitan culture.
Half-board.
Day 2. Toulouse
Exploring the city
Today we will explore the city’s marvelous gardens before embarking on our Gourmet Tour, where we will visit markets and learn about local products. Afterwards we will meet one of our local hostesses – an entrepreneur who has decided to devote her life to violets. We will also see the Canal du Midi. The remainder of the afternoon is free for those wishing to further explore the city.
Half-board.
Day 3. Toulouse – Albi
Discovering the organic cooking secrets
Who wouldn’t love to get their hands dirty and learn how to prepare some local specialities? Today this will be our mission thanks to our chef-guide, a young woman who is working to promote organic cooking and who will also show us some of her secrets. After this delightful session, we will tour the breath-taking scenery of southern France to meet a female wine-grower who will treat us to a tasting of local wines and also teach us about French wine.
Half-board.
Day 4. Albi
Art, music and culture
Today we will spend the day in this beautiful city and birthplace of Toulouse Lautrec, visiting the stunning museum dedicated to this artist and the city’s most iconic monuments. We will then meet another one of our local hostesses, a woman who chose a profession dominated by men and who had to fight to carve out a place among them. In the afternoon, we will meet some musicians who have brought back Occitan music (if they are not on tour). For those who love food, we will have dinner in one of the city’s most famous Michelin-star restaurant, whose menu is full of captivating culinary creations (not included in price).
Half-board.
Day 5. Albi – Toulouse – Spain
Back home
All good things come to an end, but we will always be able to return to this beautiful land of magnificent landscapes, the birthplace of geniuses such as Toulouse Lautrec and home to good food and drink. In the morning we will have some free time for visiting the city, its markets and antique shops before departing for Toulouse to catch our flight back to Spain. Au revoir dear food lovers!
